Fuck Buttons and Growing at Kung Fu Necktie 11/03/2009

Fuck Buttons and Growing brought their electronic, beat driven music to Kung Fu Necktie last night. The trio Growing opened the show last night. My good friend described their music as ‘very psychophrenic” and I couldn’t think of a better way to describe it. The music really had no direction at all. Some of the effects used were pretty annoying and made the audience feel uncomfortable.

The English duo, Fuck Buttons, definitely stole the show. Having received great reviews from major publications for Tarot Sport, they lived up to the expectations. Even though it was just the two of them on stage, they tried to bring a lively atmosphere. Their music needed space to breath and for the crowd to be able to dance, which the venue did not accommodate. The show had a dance party feel written all over it. Despite all this, it was an excellent performance by Fuck Buttons. Photo below.
