Flaming Lips Silver Trembling Fetus
With the holiday season coming up, everyone is trying to find the perfect gift for their loved ones. A task that is not always the easiest. Why not get them a silver trembling fetus? According to Flaming Lips frontman, Wayne Coyne, the fetus has potential to make you smarter.
Holiday Shores “Edge Of Our Lives” video
When Nathan, the lead man of Holiday Shores, stopped by for an interview last month, he had mentioned how the band recently filmed a music video in Philadelphia. “It was like an old meat packing factory. It was really weird. We were in there for like 7 or 8 hours, it felt like, just shooting this video.” The factory Nathan was talking about is located somewhere near The Barbary. Other than the opening scene which appears to be somewhere in the subway in Center City, you would have no idea it was filmed in Philly except that he mentioned it in the interview. You can read the interview HERE. The video surfaced the other day, check it out below.

Flashy Python at Johnny Brendas 12/08/2009
Philadelphia local Alec Ounsworth(of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!) brought his side project, Flashy Python, to Johnny Brendas last night. Flashy Python consisted of Mr. Ounsworth and members of a former Philly band The Teeth. Ounsworth recently released a solo record entitled Mo Beauty in October and an album called Skin & Bones under Flashy Python in August. The studio version of Skin & Bones features members of The Walkmen, Dr. Dog, CYHSY! and more. Definitely check them out if you haven’t already.
The band seemed like they were at home playing in the intimate bar, which was filled with friends, family and fans. It was a great evening and an even better set, which consisted of Flashy Python material as well as tunes from Mo Beauty. A few people in the crowd seemed to loosen up a bit as the set when on and began to get down. There was plenty of room to do so but not everyone took advantage of the space to dance. Maybe next time. Scott McMicken( from Dr. Dog) started off the night with a few acoustic tunes before making way for Flashy Python. Photos below, sorry no pics of Scott M.
Alec Ounsworth dropped by for an interview a few weeks back. That can be found HERE.

Editors and The Antlers to tour together in 2010
Editors just announced a whole bunch of tour dates in support of their new record, In This Light and On This Evening, including a three week tour of the US. They’ll be bringing along The Antlers, who put out one of my favorite records from 2009, Hospice. It’s truly a beautifully crafted piece of music that can hold it’s ground next to the heavyweights of 2009: Grizzly Bear‘s Veckatimest, Animal Collective‘s Merriweather Post Pavillion, just to name a few. The tour make a stop at Trocadero Theatre on Saturday, February 20th. Presale tickets go on sale tomorrow (12/10) at 10 am. They can be found HERE. (All the tour dates below)
