Free Energy: two Philly shows + MP3 downloads

leave a comment »

These four guys moved from St. Paul, MN to Philadelphia, PA in order to start a new life and see where it takes them. They’re called Free Energy. Their music has a Wilcoish, glam rock, 80′s vibe to it. A combo I never thought I would put into to work but I just did. The band’s debut album, Stuck On Nothing, was released via DFA Records/Astralwerks earlier this month and it was produced by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy. Check out the downloads below to have a listen.

Free Energy‘s summer tour stops in Philly tomorrow with two shows.. one of which is FREE. They’ll play WXPN‘s Free-at-noon at the World Cafe Live. You can RSVP your spot HERE or just show up. Later that night, they will headline a show at the First Unitarian Church with Jukebox the Ghost and Miniature Tigers. It’s not sold out yet so get your tickets HERE.
