Sun Hotel portraits
Rarely do you hear about an indie band from the South, but Sun Hotel is exactly that. The band comprises of five guys who met while attending college in New Orleans. They don’t have southern accents, but their music does have a southern twang to it. At first, you would think they’re from Brooklyn or Philly; after a few listens though, you begin to hear the southern style.
They played The Station in South Philly last week so I snapped a few portraits of the band. Check them out below and head over to their bandcamp to check out their tunes.

Northside Festival 2011 lineup
Here’s another music festival that was announced a while ago, but deserves some recognition. The Northside Festival takes place all over Brooklyn, NY from June 16-19. It features hundreds of bands spread out in various festivals. Kind of like Austin’s SXSW but not in TX. A few artists/bands that will be there are Beirut, Wavves, Sharon Van Etten, Sun Airway and more. Tickets/badges for the festival can be found HERE.

Camp Bisco 2011 lineup
The lineup for Camp Bisco 2011 was announced a little while ago, but I felt the need to show some love to fellow my Philadelphians– The Disco Biscuit— who host the annual festival in Mariaville, NY. They’ll be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the festival with a pretty killer lineup. The band is known for their jam-band musical style, but it recent years have strayed away from that with a wide-range of artists. This year’s lineup includes Cut Copy, Wiz Khalifa, James Murphy, Yeasayer, and many more. Tickets for the festival that’s happening from July 7th-9th can be found HERE.
