Philly F/M Festival kicks off next week
The Philly Film/Music Festival is coming up next week(Sept 22-Sept 25) and it’s playing host to some wonderful shows throughout the city. Some of the artists that will be playing are Sharon Van Etten, Marissa Nadler, Toy Soldiers, Nicos Gun, Creeping Weeds, Deadmau5, and many, many more.
You can either buy tickets to individual shows or buy a one-time badge that will get you into any show you’d like. That can be found HERE. BUT if you buy a badge through JUMP Magazine, you’ll get it for $30 cheaper. So I would highly recommend doing that.
POPPED! Music Festival announces 2011 lineup
Finally. Philadelphia has a legitimate, big time music festival to be proud of. Yes, The Roots Picnic brings in a notable lineup, but it lacks the festival atmosphere. Luckily for all of us, POPPED! Music Festival has stepped up to take over that role. The festival, which will take place at FDR Park on September 23rd-24th, will bring the likes of The Shins, Panda Bear, Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, Cults, The Pains Of Being Pure at Heart, and many more, to the city. Tickets for the festival are available now and can be found HERE. (They’re a reasonable price, too!). Check out the lineup below.

Northside Festival 2011 lineup
Here’s another music festival that was announced a while ago, but deserves some recognition. The Northside Festival takes place all over Brooklyn, NY from June 16-19. It features hundreds of bands spread out in various festivals. Kind of like Austin’s SXSW but not in TX. A few artists/bands that will be there are Beirut, Wavves, Sharon Van Etten, Sun Airway and more. Tickets/badges for the festival can be found HERE.

Camp Bisco 2011 lineup
The lineup for Camp Bisco 2011 was announced a little while ago, but I felt the need to show some love to fellow my Philadelphians– The Disco Biscuit— who host the annual festival in Mariaville, NY. They’ll be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the festival with a pretty killer lineup. The band is known for their jam-band musical style, but it recent years have strayed away from that with a wide-range of artists. This year’s lineup includes Cut Copy, Wiz Khalifa, James Murphy, Yeasayer, and many more. Tickets for the festival that’s happening from July 7th-9th can be found HERE.

The Roots Picnic 2011 line up – UPDATED
I recently noticed that the line up for this year’s edition of The Roots Picnic featured a few more artists/bands than the initial lineup. Check out the poster below to get the complete lineup. Tickets for the one day festival being held on Saturday, June 4th at the Festival Pier are still available and can be found HERE.
XPoNential Music Festival 2011 Line Up
Alright, so, I’m a little late to this party, but I just had to put up a post about this festival. It’s THAT good and it’s right across the river so there’s no need to drive to Tennessee or fly out to Washington. WXPN will host their annual XPoNential Music Festival the weekend of July 22nd-24th at Wiggins Park on the Camden Waterfront. The line up includes Sun Airway, Ra Ra Riot, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Nicos Gun, Ben Folds and more. The complete line-up can be found below as well as videos from a few of the artists. If you live in Philly, there’s really no excuse not to go to this festival. Information about how to get tickets can be found HERE.

Coachella 2011 recap via sitting at home in Philadelphia
The 2011 edition of the Coachella Music Festival was held this past weekend in Southern California. Over a hundred artists played including Arcade Fire, The Strokes, Kanye West, Animal Collective, Cold War Kids, Warpaint, the list could go on and on. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it out there so I was stuck watching the festival via Youtube. It really wasn’t that bad since Coachella did a fabulous job with the webcast. Anyway I compiled a bunch of videos via Youtube of performances I would have loved to see. Enjoy!
Coachella 2011 to stream live via Youtube
So if you’re not going to be Southern California this weekend for Coachella like myself, you’ll be able to stream the festival via the festival’s Youtube channel. It won’t be quite the same as being there, but at least you’ll get to watch some live music. Check out the trailer below.
Roadtrip: Lollapalooza 2010
The annual summer music festival Lollapalooza held in Chicago’s Grant Park is playing their own version of “Wheel Of Fortune” to announce their line-up. They’ve only revealed the ‘O’s on the board. According to The Daily Swarm, Soundgarden, Green Day, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, and Phoenix are all confirmed so far and they just so happen to fit very nicely on the top line. The festival will be held on August 6th-8th. Tickets can be found HERE. A full lineup will be posted when it’s available.
